

He was a life-long resident of the Orlando and Winter Park area, having moved with his family from Athens TN. He attended Orlando High School and there developed his pitching skills. Having earned a Baseball Scholarship to Rollins College, he was privileged to pitch for the "Tars" the only year they participated in the COLLEGE WORLD SERIES. He later returned to Rollins College Crummer Business School where he received his MBA.
Frank joined the U. S. Army CIC and was stationed in Korea and Chicago. Returning home, he accepted a position with the Winter Park Telephone Company and 35 years later, retired as Florida Director of Public Relations from its successor, Sprint/United Telephone Company.
During most of his adult life, he was a true Public Servant and gave freely of his time and talents to may local organizations. He served as Elder at St. Mark's Presbyterian Church, President of the Winter Park Chamber of Commerce, President of the Winter Park Rotary Club, Director of Advent Health Altamonte Springs Hospital, Director of Junior Achievement, Chairman of the Board of Directors for Crime Line Orlando, Director of United Way Winter Park, President of Sertoma Club Winter Park, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Christian HELP, a local Charity that assists the unemployed. He and his wife, Cheryl, enjoyed years of singing with "Young at Heart Chorus" a division of Bach Festival Choir. They were also long-time members of St. Paul's Presbyterian Church Upon retirement he continued to dedicate years of his time and resources to Christian HELP.
He is survived by his wife, Cheryl, his daughter, Lisa and her husband, Jeff Woodward; his son, Steven and his wife Shauna Hutsell; three grandchildren, Katie Woodward, Mason Hutsell and McRae Hutsell; stepson Jeff Lovell and wife, Molly, stepdaughter Jill Schaffer and her husband Scott, and four step grandchildren, Matthew and Lauren Lovell, Sam and Pearl Schaffer; three sisters, Marilyn Taylor, Margaret Matlack and Barbara Warren, and a sisters-in-law, Judy Hutsell and Patricia Hicks.
Frank became a Christian at the age of eighteen and his strong faith in the Lord Jesus Christ strengthened him throughout his life and he was grateful to enjoy so many blessings during his 91 years.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11am on Saturday, July 20, 2024 at St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, 4917 Eli St, Orlando, FL 32804. The family will host light refreshments following the service.
