

She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Corrigan, mother Lucille Corrigan, and brother Collin Corrigan.
Irene had an accomplished career in Nursing that spanned from her military service with the United States Army and Navy, serving in the Vietnam War, to her retirement from Orlando Heart Center as a Registered Nurse specializing in Cardiology. She was a very loyal, proud, servant to the United States.
Irene had a gift in caring for patients and was a friend and mentor to her fellow colleagues. During her career, she held various positions with hospitals, including head nurse, and was a natural leader.
In Irene’s personal life, she had a passion for gardening, cooking, and long walks for exercise. She loved animals and spending time with family and friends. Her favorite place to visit was the Smoky Mountains, where she enjoyed the cool outdoors and watching the majestic sunsets. She was liked by all individuals that interacted with her and had no enemies.
Irene was the mother of two sons. She was their teacher, confidant, and support. She showed the same compassion toward her grandchildren, whom she loved and adored. She was a true matriarch, and her legacy will impact her sons, grandchildren, and for generations to come.
She is survived by her life partner, Paul Kiesel, sons Kevin and Russell Cheezum, daughters-in-law, Melissa Cheezum, Kelly Hunt, grandchildren, Brooks, Eli, Bailey, Jack Davis and Luke Davis.
Services will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at 11:00am at Baldwin-Fairchild Funeral Home, 7520 Aloma Ave, Winter Park, FL 32792, 407-677-5091.
