

Jeff is preceded in death by his parents, Richard C. and Lois M. Evans and brothers, Richard “Rick” Evans, II, and Thomas Paul Evans.
He is survived by his wife of 53 ½ years, Sue Lucas Evans; son, Shawn Jeffrey (Kathy) Evans of Jeffersonton, Virginia; Heather (Garrett) McCreery of Orlando, Florida; sister, Jennifer Evans Kinsley of Granville, Ohio; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Cindy and Skip Smith, Dick Kinsley and Della Madden; his beloved five grandchildren, Hollie, Samuel and Matthew McCreery and Emily and Carter Evans; and numerous nieces, nephews, and grandnieces and grandnephews. Jeff was a graduate of Lancaster High School, Class of 1964, Lancaster, Ohio.
Jeff served in the United States Army and was a member of the Garry Owen 3rd Squadron, 7th Cavalry Regiment where he learned to play the bagpipes. He was stationed in Germany. At the end of his service, he obtained a technical degree in Information Technology and worked in that industry for over 40 years.
However, Jeff’s true love was being an actor, writer and musician playing the guitar, bagpipes, and ukulele. Jeff had hundreds of performances on stage, in television and film, as game show host and emcee for ceremonies and events, radio, industrial videos, voice-overs, and as a bagpiper for weddings, funerals and other events. He was a long-time member of Toastmasters, International where he honed both his writing and public speaking skills. Jeff was a master story-teller and in later life he published and recorded his stories. In addition to being a talented performer, he enjoyed playing golf and serving at First United Methodist Church of Oviedo as lay reader and usher for many years.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 pm, Saturday, March 19, 2022, at First United Methodist Church of Oviedo, Historic Chapel, 263 King Street, Oviedo, FL 32765 and at 11 am, Saturday, April 9, 2022, at Watkinsville First United Methodist Church, 1331 New High Shoals Road, Watkinsville, GA 30677.
