Jesse Parker was born in Orlando, Florida, and was raised in Starke, Florida. He was one of five siblings, William (Bill), Mae, Isabel, and Edward (Ed). He was drafted into the Army during World War II, and served in Berlin until the end of the war. Back home, he married Marilyn Parker, where they raised two daughters, Lyn and Donna. Jesse worked for Southern Bell Telephone. He attended Powers Drive Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon.
After the loss of Marilyn, Jesse was blessed to find love again. He married Roberta Gariepy, and gained three Step-sons, Jimmy, Terry and Jay. Jesse loved gardening, particularly his orchids, boating, and was an avid fisherman. He was a talented musician, especially with the mandolin and guitar, however he was able to play most instruments when he put his mind to it. Jesse retired from Southern Bell Telephone with over 45 years of dedicated service.
Jesse was a gentle soul, a true southern gentleman, loving husband, and father. In addition to his love of his blended family, his constant companion was Kobe, his Jack Russell Terrier. They were inseparable.
If you were to ever ask Jesse how he was, he would always say “Wonderful!”
