"Jo-Anne was known for her deep compassion, unwavering loyalty, and sharp sense of humor.
She was strong-willed and stubborn in the way only someone who cared deeply could be, yet always selfless with the people she loved.
She had a remarkable way of showing up during life’s most difficult moments, whether through constant check-ins, handwritten notes, or simply listening when someone needed reassurance. She was generous with her time, her home, and her heart, often opening her door to family and making everyone feel welcome.
Jo-Anne also had a playful streak and a love of laughter—famously insisting she was “on a diet” while quietly polishing off sweets minutes later.
Above all, her children, grandchildren, and extended family were her life, and she took great pride in staying connected to each of them. Her kindness, humor, and steadfast love will be deeply missed."
She is survived by her children, Daniel Betancourt, David Betancourt, and Brenda Betancourt; her grandchildren, Angelica Betancourt, Chloe Betancourt, Ethan Johns (Elianna Johns), Caden Hernandez, Isabelle Betancourt, Alec Betancourt, and Joseph Betancourt; and her great-grandchildren, Leonidas Betancourt and Lena Betancourt.
