Ms. Joan Crosby was born August 15, 1942 in Philadelphia, PA to John Crosby and Mary Craggs. As a career woman, she enjoyed working for the family business and in the Hospitality industry until she retired to Florida. Spending time with her family was her #1 priority, enjoying family vacations at the beach, annual Crab Fest dinners, cooking with her grandkids, and sharing french fries at the drive-thru with the "family" dog, Sofia. Family time was cherished by all and filled with laughter. A true Girls' Girl, well-dressed with hair and nails done, she was always ready for Ladies Night Out or hosting Cocktail Parties with her Girlfriends. Good times were had by all. Her favorite time of the year is the Christmas Holiday, filled with decorating the house, baking cookies and biscotti, and shopping for presents - for EVERYONE. The over-abundance of all these things led her to be known as the Real "Mrs. Claus" by her family members. She embodied the Christmas Spirit, spread joy to all and lived her entire life teaching that it is better to give than to receive. She was loved as a mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, and will be missed by all. As she taught us, we will celebrate her life with some tears - then laughter. Joan has 3 children: son, Paul Boggs of Florida, daughter Kim Karcher and husband Daniel of Delaware, and daughter Patricia "Lori" Markley and husband Dean P. of Florida; 2 loving sisters: Margaret "Peggy" Crosby and Viola "Vicki" Crosby; 7 grandchildren: Nicole Fries Homa, Daniel Karcher, Lynda Karcher, Mary Karcher, Dean C. Markley, Danielle Markley, and Kristina Markley; 4 great grandchildren: Christopher Homa, Nicolas Homa, Daniel Karcher and Emily Karcher; Nieces and Nephews: Kim and Nadir Assawa, Eric Klees, Dawn Kinsley, Patrick Harris, Dawn Horan, Kristen Lithgow and Wesley Horan.
