I just recently learned of John's passing from a mutual friend here on 86th Street in Brooklyn. I still live in the old neighborhood and hung out with John and a clique of guys in the late 70's & early 80's. Fredwena was one of our mutual friends and we would travel to the city to IP-57 and all the dance clubs of the day, including our local watering hole of Rhythm's on New Utrecht in the disco late 70's. Those are cherished memories of our youth. May he now rest in peace.

Just learned of John’s passing. John did my hair for 22 years I was so sad when he retired. Hair appointments were so fun he was always joking. He will truly be missed. Sending love and condolences to his family and loved ones

I remember John from OLA in bay ridge and than again many years later we hung out until he moved away.   Always with a smile . MY he rest in peace and his family will be in my prayers

I knew John way back in 1979 from Brooklyn when we all hung at in the clubs in the old disco days, like Ice Palace-57 in Manhattan and Rhythm's on New Utrecht Avenue in Bensonhurst and were regulars in the village...back in the day in our youth. He was strikingly handsome as a young man in his early 20's and everyone admired his sexy "Guido" good looks. We shared many mutual friends like Freddie Guliano from Cropsey Avenue (deceased), Jimmy Pantages and little Frankie, all from the old neighborhood in Bath-Beach of Brooklyn. I often thought of him as the years passed and turned into decades. I still find it enigmatic: "Where do all the years go?" May he now rest in peace {1957-2025}

Just learned of John’s recent passing. 😔 We first met John shortly after moving from Long Island to Oviedo. He cut our hair and was the only one we trusted to give our son his very first official haircut too. I remember being  so impressed by how he (solely for my 3yr old son’s benefit) made that event seem like  really big deal.  My son is now almost 37yrs old and  I still have the picture of the two of them from that day.  
I remember how upset we all were when John chose to retire. Of course we were all happy for him but sad for us, as trips to his salon were like visiting with family from back home.  I know my friend (she’s from Mississippi) and her daughters all felt the exact same way about him too. Everyone loved John and we always wished the best for my fellow NY’r . 
I pray that his journey past all the stars, over all the rainbows and through that magnificent gates of Heaven were made with Godspeed.  May you forever rest in peace, John.

John was a very talented hairstylist.
I had the pleasure of working with John for a period of 12 plus years, grew to love him and the friendship he showed to me & my family will remain in our hearts always.
We had so much fun working together will always be thankful for those years 
                                 So sorry for your loss Bobby.

John was a wonderful person and a very talented hairdresser who worked with me at the salon I opened in the early 90s. He was not just a great hairdresser but a fun guy to work with.

I’ve known Johnny since he was 19 years old. Three years after meeting him, I married his uncle Joe Crisalli Sr. and had the joy of seeing Johnny and his siblings every weekend for years. He was the sweetest young man, funny, kind, and considerate. My late husband and I had the pleasure of watching him grow into a fine man, brother, son, and a loving husband. Your reward is in heaven.

John will be missed by so many! I am so glad to have had the opportunity to know and love such a wonderful person.

From the very moment we met John at Jenn and Anthony’s wedding in Costa Rica, he made us feel like part of the family.  ❤️ He was always full of life and such a sweet soul. His memory will live on in our hearts forever.
