Marguerite Jane Charvat, 77, of Winter Park passed away on the evening of February 2, 2018 after a short hospital stay. She was the beloved wife of William Charvat, AIA; mother of Julie Charvat and Kathyrn Roberts; and grandmother of Joseph and Piper Difrancesco.
Daughter of the late Everett and Marguerite Northup, Jane is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Bill; Winter Park daughter Katie Roberts and husband Dean Roberts, grandchildren Joseph William Difrancesco, Piper Kathryn Difrancesco and Dean’s son Liam Roberts; former Son-in-Law Joseph Difrancesco; and daughter Julie Charvat and husband Byron Mouton of New Orleans.
Jane was born March 13, 1940 in Cleveland, Ohio. She went to school in Macedonia, Ohio and got her teaching degree from Kent State University. She taught in Ohio, on the Island of Guam and in Florida. Jane’s many loves included antiques, the Orlando Garden Club, and making the family home an enriching and memorable place to learn and live. Jane’s devote love of the family home in Boyne City, Michigan transcends years and generations through summers with family and friends, but most importantly and most recently with her grandchildren…instilling the love of ‘up north’.
Jane supported and loved her husband’s Architect and Naval Officer careers which involved travel throughout the US and Europe, as well as events too numerous to count. Many special lifelong friends were made. Throughout her life she kept in touch with many Northfield Macedonia High School “Class of ’58” friends through reunions and visits.
Jane was a Lutheran and Presbyterian. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Orlando Garden Club and mailed to 710 E. Rollins Street, Orlando, Florida 32803. Jane’s name will be placed on their memorial garden wall.
