Pat Laszlo’s extraordinary life of 90 years was filled with everlasting love for family and friends, success in everything that she did, and so many adventures. Pat died peacefully in Chattanooga, TN with her family on July 16, 2023. Patricia was born in Gainesville, FL on May 7, 1933, to parents James E. Keezel and Mildred Bullock Keezel, and graduated from Winter Park High School in 1951. She grew up to become the creative, independent, and courageous person that she presented to all who knew her. Following her graduation in 1955 from the University of Florida, she was recruited by the US State Department (Foreign Service). She worked in Washington DC for one year to prepare for her Foreign Service assignment to Helsinki, Finland. Her ability to fit into any group, make everyone that she met feel individually special, and her empathy, made her a perfect fit for this work.
While on assignment in Helsinki, she met her soul mate and husband of 54 years, Egbert Laszlo. Following their return to the U.S in 1977, she worked until the age of 78 and excelled as a sales agent for various companies, from liquor distribution to furniture leasing.
Anyone who met Pat knew her to be full of life and with contagious energy that could light up any room. She could relate to everyone, truly never met a stranger, and was genuinely interested in getting to know others and becoming a lifelong friend. Pat even became a secondary parent for strays (both 4 legged and two legged) that her four children would bring home. She was an avid reader and never stopped her passion for learning something new.
Patricia is survived by her 4 children, Philip Laszlo (Ulla-Maija) of Helsinki Finland, Berthold Laszlo of Las Vegas, NV, Dr. Marika Laszlo of Clermont, FL, Cecilia Laszlo-Martin (Timothy) of Chattanooga, TN: 4 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and brother Edward Keezel II.
Two separate memorial services will be held. The first being in Chattanooga TN, on July 22nd, 2023, at The Bridge of Ooltewah at 2 p.m. The second service will be held in Winter Park, FL on October 4th, 2023, from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm, at The Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home of Goldenrod, located at 7520 Aloma Ave, Winter Park, FL 32792 .
