Samuel Sewell Shutt, 80, of Orlando, Florida, passed away on November 8, 2021. Born in Rock, West Virginia, he grew up in Roanoke, Virginia where he graduated from Jefferson High School. After graduation Sam joined the United States Navy, which led to his first career as a Meteorologist for the Port Authority in Freeport, Grand Bahama where he was know as "Sam the Weatherman". After 25 years in the Bahamas, Sam relocated to Central Florida and began his second career at Orlando International Airport with US Customs and Border Protection, retiring in 2013.
Sam was an avid golfer and loved the outdoors, from biking to hiking. He never knew a stranger, he loved striking up a conversation with anyone he met. Sam was interested in their story, where they were from and their language. From those conversations he learned how to say "Thank You" in more than 50 different languages. Sam was truly a caring, loving soul.
Sam and his wife, Peggy, loved to travel and made many cruises both domestic and international, seeing the world together.
Sam is survived by Peggy, his loving wife and soulmate of 50 years. Brothers, Richard and Bandy Shutt; sister, Norma Knight, numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, November 19th at 10am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1501 N. Alafaya Trail, Orlando, FL with interment following at Queen of Angels Cemetery, 1901 Queen of Angels Drive, Winter Park, FL
