Theresa Anderson Maddron passed away peacefully at Hospice of the Comforter on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at the age of 90. Theresa was born in Watha (Pender County), NC on January 17, 1926, to the late Elbert Anderson and Callie Moore Anderson. At eighteen, she drove a school bus and later worked in Wilmington, NC for the Atlantic Coastline Railroad as an accountant. While in Wilmington, she married her husband of over 50 years and moved to Winter Park, FL in 1959. Most of her adult life was spent working for Orange County Public Schools. Theresa was a Christian, member of First Baptist Church of Winter Park, and belonged to Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She is survived by her two sons, Dwayne Maddron of Tallahassee and Kevin Maddron of Orlando; her daughter-in-law Jacqueline; and her two grandchildren, Nicholas and Grace. She is also survived by her sister, Rachel Dail of Wilmington, NC. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dallas Maddron, her brother Maurice Anderson, and sister Elaine Holder. While Alzheimer’s disease took away most of her cherished memories, Theresa always remembered her birthplace, her faith and those who loved her. We are grateful to Serenades Memory Care of Longwood for providing great care and for Hospice of the Comforter in her final days.
Flowers, or a donation to Eastpoint Fellowship (www.eastpointfellowship.com) in her memory, are welcome. Funeral arrangements by Baldwin Fairchild Lake Ivanhoe (www.baldwinfairchild.com). A celebration of her life is planned for Sunday, September 11, at 1:30 p.m. at Eastpoint Fellowship, located at 15060 Old Cheney Hwy, Orlando, FL 32828 with family receiving guests immediately thereafter.
