On June 13, 2013 with gratitude to God for a long life, lived well, we bid farewell to a wonderful lady. Agnes was born October 15, 1917, the youngest of 3 children, to John (1889-1958) and Mary (Frycz)(1896-1918) Gdanski on the homestead farm 4 miles south of Candiac. She unfortunately lost her mother to the 1918 influenza and was taken to her grandparents, Theodore (1863-1942) and Parasceva (1869-1950) Frycz, and remained with them until her marriage to Michael Lawryk (1913-1984) on November 3, 1936. Agnes had one brother Joseph (Grace) Allan and one sister Sophie (William) Ciasnocha, nine step brothers and sisters: Stanley (Mina), Helen (Ted) Engel, Allan (Margaret), Rosella (Dominic) Zyla, Victor (Ivy), Henry (Dolores), Mary (Laurence) Ludwig, Adeline (Wayne) McKeown, and Ronald (Jacqueline). She is survived by: her three children, Theresa (Harold dec’d 1992) Wilkins, Joseph (Angeline), Larry (Karen), six grandchildren: Brad (Rae) Lawryk, Ruth Wilkins, Shannon (Marty) Herback, Harry (Tanya) Wilkins, Dwayne Lawryk, Tammy (Brad) Bates, 13 great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter. She is also survived by a special friend Bonnie Barnes. The family extends its deepest gratitude and thanks to Dr. Bella Lufu and to the wonderful, caring staff at Lakeside Nursing Home for the excellent care Agnes received for the five years of her stay.
