She met her husband Herb in 1954 at his brother’s wedding. Herb sold Bernice’s Dad a couple horses and then he kept coming back to check on the horses (or his future bride).
Herb and Bernice were married on November 10, 1956. They lived in a trailer on the Braeside farm for a few years. Then rented a farm at Edgeley for 3 years. This is where two of their children were born; Robert John on September 2, 1958 and Peter Allan on November 12, 1960
Herb and Bernice moved to the Glenavon Farm on April 17, 1961. This is where they completed their family and added Gordon James on December 15, 1965 and Kathryn Patricia on January 19, 1967.
Bernice was never afraid of work at home and in her community, which she was very proud to be a part of. As busy as she was you could count on her to stop and put the coffee on and make sure you were fed before you left.
Her neighbors and friends held a special part in her heart and her family was EVERYTHING to her.
Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure.
