

On Thursday, January 28, 2016 at the wonderful age of 100 years, Eva Blaus passed away in the Broadview Hospital after a very short stay. Eva is survived by her children: Wilf (Geraldine), Broadview, Leo (Doreen) Broadview, Denise (Kelvin) Hintz, Prairie River, Sask., Joan Hansen, Avonlea; her much loved grandchildren: Leah McIsaac (Laura), Dawn Blaus (Lee), Trent Blaus (Patti), Michelle Low (Ryan),Randy Belon,Tyler Hintz (Leanne), Travis Hintz (Ashley), Jeffery Hansen (Denelle), Jeremy Hansen (Yolanda); her precious great- grandchildren: Mike, Matt, Chelsea, Jensen, Jaxon, Dryden, Dylan, Dalton, Kieran, Mackenzie, Madilyn, Daphne, Heidi, Xander, Katie, Evan and Jack. She is also survived by sisters- in- law Madeleine Taillon, Saskatoon and Tillie Sladek, Toronto and many, many nieces and nephews who were very dear to her. Eva was predeceased by her beloved husband of 53 years Ernie; her parents Oscar and Jeanne Taillon; her infant daughter Jeannette; her much beloved great- grandson Jordan; her son-in-law John Hansen and her brothers and sisters: Rhea (Joe) Stradecki, Rodrigue, John (Annie), George (Lena), Dora (Dona) Fafard, Adrian (Clara), Laurette, Yvonne (Jean) Vanasse, Emma (Henry) Segouin, Ida (Arthur) Rink and Rod. Eva grew up on a farm in the Grayson district and spent the remainder of her life in Broadview except for several winters spent in Mesa. She celebrated her 100th birthday last summer surrounded by her family and friends. She was unfailingly accepting and grateful and constant in her faith. A funeral mass and celebration of her life will be held in the Broadview Community Hall on Thursday, February 4, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Rene Mangahas. Interment of cremated remains will follow in the Broadview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in memoriam may be made to a charity of your choice.
