With love, wonderful memories and great sadness we say goodbye to our dear father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Leeson Holloway. Leeson passed away peacefully in the Southeast Integrated Care Centre, Moosomin, Saskatchewan on Friday October 19, 2012. He was born in Wapella, Saskatchewan on October 27, 1928, to parents Alexander and Dorothy Holloway. Leeson married Pat Morris on June 27, 1952. Over their 58 years together, they raised their family of five children with love and devotion. Leeson had a passion for hockey and began playing at a young age. He was one of the five Holloway brothers who played in the Wapella Black Hawks line-up during the 1950’s. This team won the South Saskatchewan Intermediate B championship in 1953 and captured the provincial Intermediate B title in 1954. Leeson was a dedicated employee in the oil industry for 34 years. He was employed by Tide Water, Marathon Petroleum, Abbotsford, Encore and TransCanada Pipelines. Always active in his community, he was a town councillor for many years, coached minor hockey and was an active member of the Wapella Wildlife Federation. In retirement he enjoyed hunting, trapping, fishing and gardening. He loved travelling with his family and will always be remembered for his youthful attitude and for his sense of humour. Leeson was predeceased by his beloved wife Pat, his parents Alexander and Dorothy, and siblings Ernie, John, Lillian, Marjorie, Esther and Glen.He will be sadly missed by his family: Sandra (Ken) Dobra ; Morris (Collette) Holloway; Brent Holloway, Susan (Eric) Kempin; Mark (Blanche) Holloway, 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters Dorothy Taylor and Margaret (Frank) Van Hee; brothers Fred, George, Cecil (Cheryl), Harvey (Dawn); sisters-in-law Rae Kipper and Karen Holloway as well as many nieces and nephews. A celebration of Leeson’s life will be held in St. Andrew’s United Church, Wapella, SK. on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Randal Neufeld officiating. Cremation with interment at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Moosomin and District Health Care Foundation for Palliative Care, Bag Service #1, Moosomin, SK. SOG 3NO.
