She received her education in Oakshela and Broadview schools. Following graduation, she attended Full Gospel Bible Institute in Eston, SK. She married Adam Osiowy, the love of her life, in 1964 and joined him in Swift Current where she worked mainly in banking until becoming a mom. Two daughters were born there and then they moved to Grenfell to farm. Their third daughter was born in Grenfell. They farmed for 42 years until Adam suffered a stroke. Leona cared for him while in hospitals and nursing homes during his final eight years.
Leona was active in her church, teaching children in Sunday School. She loved gardening and cooking and shared produce, meals, and her home with many folks. She was generous and selfless, putting others before herself, and supporting world gospel missions. A highlight of her life was visiting Brenda & Jerry and newborn grandson in Malawi.
She loved her girls, their husbands and her grandchildren. They often called her and spoke on the phone for hours, asking for her advice and sharing their hearts. She prayed for these loved ones every day. She cherished her extended family.
Leona committed her life to Christ as a child and devoted herself to the Bible, fellowship, and prayer. She suffered many debilitating illnesses but through these challenges she grew in joy, thanksgiving, and patience.
She is in heaven with Jesus, whom she loved. She is deeply missed here by all who her life touched.
