He was predeceased by his parents Frank and Ethel, wife Margaret and sister Esther in infancy.
Les is lovingly remembered by his daughter Laurie; grandchildren Amanda and Nathan; great-grandchildren Zion, Judah and Levi; brothers and sisters: Jim, Nelson (Doris), Dorothy, Leonard (Phyllis) and May (Michel) and numerous nieces, nephews and adopted son Wendell.
Les was born and grew up on a farm near Baring, Sk. Being an only child, his constant playmate was his dog. When he was a bit older his grandfather gave him his horse that became his transportation to and from Huntingford school. Les left home at age 14 to go to work. He worked on various farms and later worked at a garage. He learned to fix many things, cars, small engines, etc. Les moved to Regina in the early 60’s and worked for various companies driving truck until the early 80’s when he and Margaret moved to the West Coast. In 1991 they returned to Regina. He hauled gravel and eventually worked for Silverado Demolition. Les drove truck for over 40 years. He always did his own repairs. He finally retired when he was 82. Les loved dogs and cats. He enjoyed fixing motors and always tried to help people. He was honest, hard-working and very generous with his time, skills and tools. Family and friends were very important to him.
We would like to thank the nurses and doctors at the Pasqua, Regina General and Wigmore hospitals, Allan Blair Cancer Centre, Moose Jaw Home Care team, Palliative Care team and Grace Hospice for the compassionate care he received over the last couple of years.
In lieu of flowers and in Les’s memory please work at restoring family relationships - Forgive and ask to be forgiven. This would have meant much more to him than any donation.
A celebration of life service will be held in Regina Apostolic Church, 808 Assiniboine Ave. E., Regina, SK on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., officiated by Pastor Jim Bobst. A private interment will be held at a later date.
