Maria Petrie

Maria was born on October 16, 1942 and was raised in Broadview, Saskatchewan along side her identical twin sister and her brother. After raising her children, she began her career as a Registered Nurse local and abroad and took great pride in her knowledge and work until her retirement. Many people in her hometown grew to know and love Maria like family.

Maria’s interests included a love of horses, painting, reading and listening to music. She was an avid reader, had a great admiration for the farm and had a passion for painting beautiful images of still life. She also enjoyed listening to great performers such as Bob Dylan.

Maria was predeceased by her parents Stanley and Pauline Kotulski.

She is survived by her four children: Jim (Simone), Dave, Brenda and Shelly (Cliff); her twin sister Carol and her children: Doug (Tara), Mike, Jeff (Tanya) and Leslie; her brother Stanley and his children Cher and Arron; as well as her five grandchildren: Zack, Jessi, Julie, Sarah and Angie, all of whom she loved and adored dearly.

There will be no service, as per Maria’s request, at this time.

The family would like to thank the staff at Moosomin Integrated Care Centre and the Tubman Funeral Home / Valley Crematorium for their care and kindness in Maria’s final days.
