Sheldon “Squabic” was raised by his kokum on Zagime with a large extended family of cousins, uncles and aunties. His late auntie Lorna took him as her own and spoiled him. Family was everything to Sheldon and when he had children of his own, he cherished them even through absence and separation. Sheldon would have wanted his children to know how much he loved them. He talked about all his children often and how he missed them dearly.
Because of his easy going nature and deadly humour, Sheldon made many close friends. His friends meant the world to him and he was there for them through the good times and the bad. He was a prankster, a spinner of tales and a keeper of memories. Sheldon was destined to be a renowned storyteller. Because he was an avid hunter and fisherman, Sheldon had many adventures to share for a lifetime.
We are grateful to Sheldon for his laughter, kindness, good deeds, good words and big heart.
The family would like to express our thanks to the many people who reached out with condolences and shared their good memories about Sheldon. We are grateful to everyone in Zagime Anishinabek for helping to ease our sorrow.
