Tanis Leigh Cote

Tanis was predeceased by her paternal grandparents John (Byrd) Shingoose and Noella (polka) Cote; maternal grandparents Russell G. Ryder and Caroline A. Eashappie and special grandpa Neil Ryder; aunties: Lorri Jack, Stephani (Eashappie) Coulter and Sherry-lyn Eashappie; uncles: Garnet Eashappie, Kevin Cote, John Cote, Doug Tillotson and Ellio Quewzance.

She is survived by her children: Trenese (Zolten), Mickeyas Jr. and Shakira; parents Perry and Twinkle Cote; sisters: Fallon, Kristin and Raven; brother Shane Cote Jr.; uncles: Brian Eathan Cote, Shane Cote Sr., Enock Quewzance and Corwin Hotomani; aunties: Ketha Caldwell, Lavonne Cote, Arval Cote, Colinda (William) Eashappie-Tanner, Shelly (Dean Sr.) Tanner, June (Eashappie) Coulter, Judy (Melvin) Desjarlais, Twyla Eashappie and Sunshine Ryder; grandparents: Collin (Cheryl) Eashappie, Carl (Bimbo) Ryder, Cecil Eashappie, Ivy (Kurt) Ryder and Diane (Thompson) Smith; special nieces and nephews: Trinity, Emily, Kingston, Brooklyn, Kevin-John, Ryder, Denzel and Jaxx; special granddaughter Elora “Blinks” Cote who will dearly miss her auntie Mee-maw and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

A wake will be held in Carry The Kettle Community Hall, Carry The Kettle First Nation on Sunday, November 9, 2025 at 4:00 p.m. The funeral service will take place in the same location on Monday, November 10, 2025 at 11:00 a.m., officiated by Elder Kurt Ryder and Ivy Ryder. The pallbearers will be: Brian Cote, Corwin Hotomanie, Mickeyas Liyew, Shane Cote Jr., Matthew Eashappie and Garth Adams Jr. The family considers all those in attendance honorary guests. The interment will take place at a later date.
