

Arnie was born in Minneapolis to Helen and Arnold Baker Sr., on April 6, 1937. He graduated from University High School, Minneapolis, and followed in his father’s footsteps by beginning a long career in the insurance business. His proudest achievements beyond his family were earning the Charter Life Underwriter (CLU) designation, recognition as a lifetime Million Dollar Roundtable producer and starting several businesses including the family pension administration business and consulting firm, Tribal Benefit Specialists. His love for the outdoors and sports were foundational to his pursuits of hunting, fishing and golf.
Arnie shared almost 50 years of marriage with his wife Diane who preceded him in death in June 2013. Arnie was also preceded in death by his parents Arnold Sr., and Helen and brother, Thomas.
He is survived by his children, Carolyn (Jamey) Rottman, Elizabeth (James) Midtlien, Arnold III (Darcie) Baker, Roger Stoddard, Margaret Fuller and their families; sister-in- law Kathy Baker and her daughters Allison and Andrea; 8 Grandchildren, Samantha. Sydney, Jack, Brooke, Lindsay, Dawson, Sam and Isak; 2 Great Grandchildren Harrison and Baby Ehret; In laws, and many cherished life-long friends.
The family specifically wants to send a special note of gratitude for the love and care provided by close staff members and caregivers at Norris Square.
A visitation will precede a short service for friends and family to gather at Wulff Woodbury Funeral Home, 2195 Woodlane Dr. Woodbury, MN, on Monday January 19, 2026. Visitation at 10:00am, Service will be at 11:00am. Private family interment at Roselawn Cemetery.
