Cannot comprehend this late, yet still shocking news.  Your smile, your spirit is still vivid after so many years we saw you in Baltimore.  Never thought it was the last time for us on earth.  Now Haven is marked with your laughters.

Chunmei, I am fortunate to have you while in graduate school. You are the best friend I can ever dream of having. I am deeply touched by your life.  It is comforting to know that one day, we will meet again in heaven.

Chunmei, the last time I saw you was in 2006 when we relived our youth at the  20th year post-graduation reunion; the last time I talked to you was a few years ago when we discussed career development, kids and families; the last time I wrote to you was only 10 days ago when I wished you the strength to recover after learning you were ill. I wish I hadn't let the distance and the busy life kept us apart and I had always thought that we would be seeing each other again at our 30th, 40th, 50th reunions. Now I am writing to you for the very last time, still in pain and disbelief of losing you. As your untimely departure has taken part of me away with you, you have also given me and many others the gift of a reminder that life is precious and the time we have is limited. Chunmei, rest in peace, as you, with your big smile, beautiful curly hair, and infectious optimism, will always be living among us.

It was really sad to hear about the news! She was such a lovely woman, we are happy that she is with our Lord Jesus Christ now. Life is never predictable, in the face of death, nothing matters other than eternity. I/she is lucky to have this salvation which is free to everyone. Our deepest sympathy goes to GuoPing's family. RIP.

Chunmei's journey ended much earlier than most of us, and her sudden death surely shocked and saddened us all whose life has been affected by her.

Chunmei has touched us all with her warm heart, infectious smile and beautiful personality. I will be eternally grateful and remember how she lifted me up with her contagious optimism and smile, when I went through difficult times in life. I hoped that I was able to lift her spirit up during her last few days and we were able to hang on to her much longer. Unfortunately all hope faded and a thunder stroke down.

Chunmei and I go way back when we were roommates (share the same bunk bed for 4 years!) during our college years in Beida. Through the years we got chances to chat and see each other once in a great while, however, due to our busy schedule with work and family and the long distance between us, it became less and less frequent in recent years. As we would assume and take for granted that we will always find time in the future, it is sad and unfortunate that was it and we don't always get a second chance. It reminds me how precious and fragile life can be and if we don't grab today we may never know what tomorrow will bring. 

All the wonderful memories I shared with Chunmei will be cherished and remembered and she will forever live in my heart. I have a new perspective in life, because of the Sunshine and legacy that Chunmei left behind.

I trust that beyond pain there can be healing, Guoping, Kimberly and Michelle, be strong and Chunmei (Mom) will smile and watch over you from heaven above.

We are deeply saddened to hear the shocking news. Chunmei's smiling face will forever remain in our memories.

I had worked for 3M for only one more year and I was based in Beijing China. During my service, I visited St. Paul twice. Be frankly, I could not say "I know Chunmei" as I did not meet her in person.

While both of my St. Paul visits had Chunmei's efforts:

The first time, Chunmei's helped me arranged a lunch party with Chinese colleagues who were based in St. Paul. Although I finally could not join it due to business itinerary change, Chunmei's warm-hearted arrangement and her patience Brightened me and made me feel home.

The second time, it was our Chunmei again, although we did not work in the same area, who helped me to meet with related people and I finally understood company's policy and process better.

While, I will never have chance to meet Chunmei in person, to share my story in China and hers in the States. But Chunmei's  kindness, warm-heart and passion will stay long in my memory. Meanwhile, I will also follow what she had done, be a kind-hearted, genuine And friendly person.

Dear Guoping, I was so sad to hear of Chunmei's illness and then of her death.  As others have mentioned, her smile and her laugh are the things I will remember most.  I hope you and your daughters will find peace.  The pastor at my church often reminds us that when we die Jesus meets us and takes us to a room that has been perfectly prepared for us, and there we wait at peace, for the people we loved most in life.  It is a harder journey for those of us who must go on here on earth without them.  I hope if you ever need help you will call on all of your friends here for support.  Including my family.

Could NOT believe it. Often saw her at Chinese School last year. Didn't get a chance to talk. Impression she was pretty, enthusiastic and professional. Chatted with her husband about Weiqi for a few times at the school. Very nice man as well. My deepest sympathy to the family.

Chunmei, I could not believe that you left your family and friends forever! When we walked together at 3M last summer, you were energetic and cheerful. When I offered rides to your daughter to SAT classes last August, you expressed sincere appreciation. When you came to my house chatting last fall, you did not show any signs of illness except for feeling hungry and eating nuts. I was so shocked when I heard the sad news last night, and I could not stop my tears rolling down my cheek. Your family needs you, and your friends love you, but you were gone.  What a loss! What a deep grief! May you rest in peace. May God guide and help your family adapt to a new life style with your smiles and love and care in their memories.

We met you through our mutual Chinese friends in Woodbury. We partied together many times. We are very saddened by what happened to you. You are gone too soon, too early, and too young.  
 
You touched us when you were alive, with your joyful smile and uplifting attitude. Now you touched us in spirit even though you are no longer with us. 

What a comfort to know that you were baptized the day before you passed away and are now resting in Lord; that you are in a better place where there is no tears, no sorrow, no pain, and no death; that one day we will meet again and party together again.

You are greatly missed and loved by the Chinese community at 3M, in Woodbury and beyond. Your memory will live on.

I was very shocked this afternoon when I heard that Chunmei passed away.  I still remembered we first met at her home of Cornell in 1995.  Chunmei and Guoping made a great happy couple.  I was very much impressed by Chunmei's joyful smile.  Unbelievable lost.  She will be truly missed by all of us!

In my brief time at 3M, I feel so lucky to have had the opportunity to meet Chunmei.  I remember thinking what an extraordinary person she was the first time I met her - her warm personality, enthusiasm for her work, and beautiful smile were infectious.  She will truly be missed.  I can only hope that you find comfort in the knowledge that Chunmei had a positive impact on so many lives, and her memory will live on through us all.  My thoughts are with you.

I was very shocked and felt deeply sad when I heard that Chunmei passed away. I remember last summer Guoping, her husband, and I were talking over the phone about their possible trip to visit Michigan. I was then so excited, as I had not seen Guoping and Chunmei for about 5 years. Later, Guoping told me they could not make the trip, becasue Chunmei was sick. I thought she might just have got cold or some minor disease. I waited, waited, and waited, until Guoping told me yesterday that Chunmei passed away a couple of days earlier. 

Chunmei was one of my 3M colleagues when I worked at 3M from 2000-2004. We were working on a few projects in biosensor development while I was at Austin and she St. Paul. We even filed a few joint patents. Everytime when I visited 3M-St. Paul, I visited Guoping/Chunmei's family. We had so much joyful time together when I stayed with them. She was simply a cheerful person who really enjoyed life.

Now she is gone. Even after a whole day when I heard the news, it is still hard for me to think she is away from us. Chunmei, we will miss you - forever!

The first month I joined 3M, Chunmei and Guoping invited our family to their home party, where we were introduced to many of their friends. That was so helpful. It was so lucky having had such a wonderful friend and is so sad losing her. We miss her bright smile.  My deepest condolences to Guoping and family.

Chunmei had a special gift of spreading the joy. We miss her dearly!!

My vivid memory of Chunmei comes when we were classmates in Beida.  I was playing soccer a lot back to old days in “May 4th” track field.  One day in the afternoon, I was surprised to see Chunmei and Qiuhui were dribbling the ball on the field.  As I was watching, they came to explain to me that they have joined the women's soccer team.  After several months' practice, they started to prepare for the tournament to be held in Guanzhou.  She came to ask me if I and my friends could play a warm-up match with the team to help them prepared (of course unpaid).  I agreed and got enough people to play a match with them at noon. In one occasion, as I was sending the ball to the front from the midfield, Chunmei ran to me and tried to block the ball.  Unfortunately, the ball hit Chunmei right in her chest.  I felt so bad and immediately apologized to her.  She showed no sign of pain and continued to play.  When the winter break was over, I heard they lost badly in the tournament (something like 12:0 in some matches).  Old wisdom says, “Don't judge hero by victory or defeat” (bù yi chéng bài lùn ying xióng).  To this day, I am still impressed by her courage.  Chunmei, you will be remembered forever!

I will miss Chunmei's happy spirit and friendship.  Deep condolences to her family.

I met Chunmei soon after I started at 3M. She and my wife Reema were in the same department, and I came to know Guoping and also know about their children. More so, her pride in her work and her family! She became my neighbor at work and moved into the office next door. She was very soft in voice, but strong in her work. She finally moved into my office when I changed jobs, and I always marveled at how clean and organized her office was! She had indicated to me about her worries regarding her health, but never let on that it was serious. My deepest condolences to Guoping and her extended family. We will all miss her - especially her soft voice, sweet smile and pleasant disposition. Chunmei, we are richer for having known you, and I will cherish the conversations we had. Rest in peace.

The last time I spoke with Chunmei was on the occasion of my retirement in the spring of 2011. She was, as always, full of smiles and enthusiasm. I feel so sorry for the sad news of Chunmei.  She was so young, so energetic, and never stopped running. We met in the first summer at U of Texas after arrived at US.  We went out together with a couple of other Beida /Keda folks. We swam at Lake Travis at Austin, Texas.  She was a good swimmer, and none of us were able to catch up with her. We went further to San Antonio, and climbed to the top of American Tower.   Now I just can't believe that all of a sudden, this is gone. All this happened to her and to your family.  I told the story to my family, my kids. We were all so sad, sad and sad. Please accept my deepest condolences.
