Dean spent his early years in Kindred, ND, and moved with his family to the Twin Cities in 1966. He graduated from Park of Cottage Grove in 1975, and attended the University of Minnesota. He worked for 29 years at Thomson Reuters, formerly West Publishing. He passed away unexpectedly Sunday, Sept. 20 while walking. Preceded in death by father, Roger Carl; grandparents, Carl & Ragna and Herman & Alice Olson; and father-in-law, Andrew Manzi. Survived by wife, Nina Manzi; mother, Helen; sister, Deb (Jeff) Berg; mother-in-law, Ruth Manzi; brother-in-law, Andy (Helena) Manzi; nephew, Frank; nieces, Kjerstin and Joanne; and many friends and relatives. Visitation on Thurs., 9/24, 4-8PM at Wulff Woodbury Funeral Home, 2195 Woodlane Dr., Woodbury. Memorial service on Fri., 9/25, 2:30PM at Christ Lutheran Church, 11194 36th St. N., Lake Elmo. Private interment at Roselawn Cemetery, Roseville, prior to service. In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to donor’s choice. Dean took the road less traveled, and sometimes had to turn around, but always enjoyed the scenery.
