I just found out about Don's passing from a former fellow officer, Robert Chaucierre, who is stationed in Germany. I am shocked and saddened at his passing as he was a dear friend and a mentor.I have many, many fond memories of Don. He was a true friend and gentleman. I wish I had known about this at the time of his passing as I would have attended his funeral. My condolences to his lovely wife Renee and his family. Joel Radjenovich, LTC (r) USAR

I am sorry for your loss. During the short time I served with the LTC he impressed me as a genuine man and good leader. 58 is way too short. He, and your family, are in my prayers.

I am very sorry to hear that Don passed away.  He was always a calm, level-headed, and modest man, qualities of character that masked his high achievement and distinguished honors in business, the military, and personal life.  I grew up with Matt Holloway as my best friend and have fond memories of Don in the garage habitually fixing the car or other device. Other than being with his family, what Don seemed to enjoy most was repairing old or broken machines; he was, quite sincerely, a mechanical genius, qualities that both of his sons seemed to have inherited but have not yet fully matched. 

Unlike most sons, Matt never said a bad thing about his father for as long as I have known him, never complained about a painful memory that naturally afflicts relations between most fathers and sons, thereby suggesting that Don, as is evident to all who knew him, rarely, if ever, lost his temper and never mistreated his children.  It is clear to anyone who knows Jeff and Matt that both are heavily influenced by their father, with Matt, in my opinion, more reminiscent of Don's consistently calm disposition and Jeff more aligned with his mother's more outgoing disposition.  In any case, I think that Don was an excellent role-model for both his children and friends. I know that I will greatly miss his presence, and may he find eternal peace and happiness wherever his spirit goes.

Renee and Family, my deepest condolences to you.  I knew Don as a my route driver for G&K years ago and met up with him again at Alliant (USF) in Eagan where we were co-workers. He definitely was a kind and gentle soul, always willing to listen. We never had a conversation that did not include his wonderful wife or one or both of his sons.  For that I always admired him - home is where his heart was - always!

Our thoughts are with you at this time.  Don was our salesguy.  He was the sunshine that came in the door twice a week and loved talking about sports.  We loved his laugh, willingness to always help with restaurant supply issues and we really miss him.  We have his picture hanging by the phone and its a face I won't forget.  Your friends at The Coop miss you Don.

I first met Don when he and I were serving in West Berlin, he in the US Army and I in the RAF. We had some fun times when off duty â€“ (Cold War or not !) we could write a book. Later in 1977 Don & Renee married in Berlin and I flew back from London to be there. Over the years I have visited Don, Renee and the boys both in Minneapolis and lake Vermilion. On my last visit two years ago I was privileged to be at the wedding of his eldest son Jeff & Jenny who I later met in London on the European honeymoon.
Through my life I have met many people but with Don I am please to say I can call Don and Renee Holloway true friends. I will never forget Don.

Don was my cousin, as kids we always had wonderful Holidays with the whole Family.I can still hear all the laughter from those many years ago.

I knew Don from Stock Yards. He was such a nice man, always had a smile. My thoughts and prayers are with all of his family and friends.

My memories of Don are few compared to some but many compared to others.  I will always remember the kind nurturing tireless way he approached his life and job.  Don was one of the most passionate people I knew in caring for his customers.  As a friend he always had an ear to lend and gave me heart felt advice on business and personal matters. I worked with Don at USFoods and I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. I always remember Don or Renee coming in on Friday afternoons for will calls and it was always a pleasure to see both of you. Don was such a nice, kind, soft spoken man. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

I was so sorry to hear of Don's passing.  I worked with Don at G&K Linen and knew him to be a wonderful and caring individual and I was fortunate to have known him.  My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.

I'm so sorry to hear of the passing of Don.  He was my sales rep for many years at the North Pole Restaurant.  He was great to work with...he would bring me anything l needed when l forgot things.  He was such a joy to work with.  He will be missed.  My thoughts and prayers are with his family at this sad time.

We are so sorry to hear about Don's passing.  You both were so instrumental in getting our son's interested in skiing and snowboarding.  Besides the sports, there was church camp and time spent up at your cabin.  We will say a special prayer for you (Renee), Jeff and Matty.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Don used to by my US Foods guy at Philanders,in Prescott. I think you were down with him from time to time too, Renee.
