Born October 10, 1952 to Howard and Ruth Reichling in St. Paul, Minnesota, Gary was the middle child of three. Richard (Dick) was his older brother and Patricia (Pat) was the baby of the family. At one point in Gary’s childhood his family lived down the street from a bowling alley, which ignited one of his many passions in life. He became an avid bowler, sometimes bowling 5 nights a week and he gained many friends through this passion, some of which he has to this day.
In the mid 70’s Gary met the love of his life, Susan (Sue) Lindemann. He worked at the restaurant Gramophone which was located across the hall from Sue’s work at the time. She soon became one of his many passions and rumor has it, their first date was at a bowling alley! They proceeded to get married October 16, 1982 at Bethel Lutheran Church. They went on to have two wonderful children, Sarah on November 6th, 1983 and Daniel (Dan) on June 25th, 1986.
Besides bowling, his wife and his children, Gary’s passions extended to sports, any and all, especially his Minnesota sports teams. He soon passed this passion onto his children. Sarah gained the love of the Twins and Timberwolves, Dan gained his love of the Wild, and well, how about those Vikings? Later in his adult life he worked as a Chef (another passion) at Southtown Lanes in Bloomington, MN and he also worked part time at The Hockey Lodge for the Minnesota Wild.
Shortly before the Marriage of his son Dan (which occurred in the same church that he married Sue), Gary had to have surgical intervention for some heart problems he was having. Not even a full day after his surgery he was joking with Dan and Jenni that he would be able to Polka dance at the wedding; he danced just not to Polka.
Gary lived a happy, loving and passion-filled life until his passing on June 30, 2015 and he will be missed greatly by all.
