

Joel was born August 9, 1966 to Virginia nee Karger and James Rockne Jensen in St. Paul, Minnesota. He lived his entire life in Woodbury, Minnesota.
He attended a Washington County DAC, Grove Elementary and graduated from Lexington High School.
He was employed for 33 years, with the City of Woodbury, Arby’s Restaurant, the Woodlane Roller Rink and finally at the Woodbury YMCA.
Joel loved to dance, bowl, skate and swim. He was an active participant in Special Olympics, earning a large number of metals in a variety of sports. He particularly proud to be chosen to be the flame carrier and torch lighter at a Special Olympics of Minnesota poly hockey meet.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Elizabeth “Lorraine” nee Rockne and Tyrus Jensen and Martha nee Mielke and Willie C. Karger.
He is survived by his parents, brother James R. Jensen II (Tracey), nephew James R. Jensen III, sister Nicole Jensen Albrecht (Brian). Aunts and Uncles and many cousins. Also, friends and acquaintances which he always greeted with his hand out, a smile on his face and “Hi, I’m Joe Jensen.”
He will be loved and remembered for his loving ways, Joe-isms, and his acceptance of everyone.
Please Join us to Celebrate Joel's Life at a gathering on Tuesday, September 21st 6-8 p.m at Woodbury Lutheran Church, 7380 Afton Rd, Woodbury, MN 55125. Joel's Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, September 25, at 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, Effington Twp, Otter Tail Co. Minnesota
