Joe was a great friend of mine and he always had a smile on his face and did more then I can say and he’s a great friend and I miss him so much and joe Rest In Peace my friend and we will miss you at Rise 

I enjoyed coaching Joel on the blazing stars swim team. He greeted myself and his teammates every practice with a huge smile and worked incredibly hard throughout practice. Joel was patient and very respectful of and empathetic toward his teammates and everyone around him. It is a pleasure to have met such a wonderful man. 

I'm so sorry to see that Joey has passed.  He was such a sweet, sweet soul.  We loved going to Twins games with him.  My mom just loved taking Joey out to the ball game!  I hope they are watching together in heaven.   Joey was the first person I ever knew with Down's Syndrome, and he taught me a a lot about love and acceptance.  I'm so glad I knew him.  My deepest condolences to you all - Jim, Ginny, Jim and Traci.

I loved working with Joel at the Woodbury Y. We trained together and had great fun throwing the medicine ball back and forth, singing while walk/jog on the treadmill and doing "touchdown/goal posts" shoulder presses!
He was always so kind to me. I know the Lord has His loving arms around Joel and that all is well with his body and soul. 

Joel  was my friend  for many years.   We went to the arcade  together. Special  Olympics,  bowling. And out to eat. Not to forget  about  our shopping  together.  He was the type of person  who  would always  cheer you up. He will be missed!

I had the opportunity to supervise Joel at the Woodbury YMCA.   He loved to work  with other custodians.   He would tell me where I missed a spot or where it wasn’t good enough, and then he would smile.   Words cannot express the true joy I had working with Joel.    He will forever be remembered.

I had the opportunity to work with Joel for a few years. It was always one of my favorite stops to do during the day and visit him at the YMCA. He was always smiling and loved everything and everyone. 

We are so sorry to hear of Joel's passing; we will miss him at our Hearts & Hands events.  His smile and sense of humor was a "ray of sunshine" at our gatherings, and his pre-event preparation help was appreciated.  Joel was a very special person, and it was wonderful to share time with him.  Beyond our sorrow, we celebrate Joel's  passing into Glory; he is healed and with his Savior Jesus.  We wish Joel's family and friends to find comfort and peace in God's promises at this time of loss.  Blessings!!!

Joel will be dearly missed by all his friends at Faith and Friends and Hearts and Hands, Woodbury Lutheran Church.  He loved Jesus and praying for his family in class, and singing "Jesus Loves Me".  He would help us set the tables for Hearts and Hands each month.  He brought us all a lot of joy.  We know we will see him again one day in heaven.  You are in our prayers.

Joel, you were my best friend and I will miss you so much! Thank you for being my bowling partner for so many years.

I helped run Special League bowling. Joel was a great bowler and very friendly and caring person . He was one of the first bowlers when the league began more then 40 years ago.
