

LaVerne "Tiny" Hawn, born LaVerne Jahn on November 29, 1932, in St. Paul, MN, passed away on March 9, 2024, in Woodbury, MN, at the age of 91. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who lit up every room with her outgoing and entertaining personality.
Tiny loved Jesus and was a faithful church-goer and a long-time member of Cypress Street Baptist Church and later, Burns Avenue Baptist Church and First Evangelical Free Church of Maplewood. She cherished her role as a homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Tiny also found joy in her career spanning over 30 years at Dayton's/Marshall Fields/Macy's.
Tiny was known for her hospitality and sense of humor. She loved to entertain, always making guests feel welcome. Despite being a terrible singer, she never hesitated to belt out her favorite Elvis tunes or hymns. Tiny's love for her family and dear, lifelong friends, knew no bounds.
She is survived by her children Steve (Barb) Hawn, Dan (Sally) Hawn, Dave (Melissa) Hawn, Jeff (Alyssa) Hawn, Kris (Kevin) Strom, 11 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren. Tiny is preceded in death by her loving husband, Frederick "Bud" Hawn, and grandson, Tim.
The family is grateful for the love and care shown to LaVerne by the incredible staff of Stonecrest Senior Living Community. Memorials can be made in her name to the Presbyterian Homes Foundation (affiliated with Stonecrest).
Tiny's warm spirit and love for life will be deeply missed by all who had the joy and privilege of knowing her.
A visitation for LaVerne will be held Thursday, March 21, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Wulff Woodbury Funeral Home, 2195 Woodlane Dr, Woodbury, Minnesota 55125, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM.
