We now share a granddaughter. Her name is Marjorie Avon. 7 pounds 10 oz. Born September 12, 2017.  She is beautiful.  I hope she grows up strong and loving like her grandma Marjorie.   Rest in peace Marjorie and know I will do everything I can to give her the best life possible.  Wish I could have you here to help me.

I just learned of beloved "Doctor Marj"'s passing, this past Thursday.  For all the four members of my marital family and friends and all the community members from everywhere who worked and learned and whose whole selves were opened to healing because of her bright, intelligent, compassionate and generous presence, that Marj is gone from earth's plane is a huge loss.  But, we all carry some of that beauty and laughter she shared with us forward, as does her family, I'm sure.  Love and Light!

I had been going to Marjorie for back and pain relief since 2003/4. She was one of the only doctors and treatments to ever offer me any relief or support. Her attitude and outlook on life was inspiring, comforting, and made me feel good. I really admired her. She was a great resource for the local community, and the university area. My coworker who was also a patient used to refer to her as Miracle Marje for her strength and talent. I will miss her and her presence in the community. I hope whatever her endeavors are on the other side are as rewarding as her life was. My thoughts to her family.

I am so shocked and sad to hear of Marjorie's passing.  She has been supportive to me as a healer and also provided great comfort to me when my mom was ill.  I send your family love and hope you can find comfort in knowing your wife and mom touched many people.

I was deeply saddened and shocked to learn of Marj's passing. My heart goes out to her family and friends. 

I met Marj about 25 years ago when her practice was near 25th & Riverside, then lost touch for several years. We reconnected after she had transformed the old 'Triangle' into a new home for her clinic. 

Marj was a beautiful person and an amazing chiropractor. I knew her to be kind, generous and supportive. She had a wonderful sense of humor as well. 

We may not know why we have to lose a loved one, but we do know it is always too soon. My deepest sympathies to all who knew and loved her.

I was a long term patient of Marj's. Since the late 1980s, she has been helping me with back and jaw problems. We developed a friendship over the many years, talking about our families and lives. I am deeply grateful for attention to my health, her kindness, her humor, and her honesty. She was always willing to mentor young practitioners and take on challenging and underserved patients. Her dedication to celebrating holidays with vigor and perfection gained my admiration. I will hold all of you in my heart these coming days. Blessings to you all. She lived a wonderful life of service.

I am so sorry to hear of Marj's death--am thinking of you all-Ken, Evan, Zoe.
I will think of Marj coming up with the "60's" theme for Evan's 8th grade graduation party and Marj doing the tie-dyed T-shirts with the kids--what a fun project! and a great theme for their party.  Marj was such a talented and creative person.

I am asking for Daimoku for an SGI member of 30 years by the name of Marje Lokich. She was introduced to the practice by Lisa Mattson (currently a leader in Duluth) Some of you may remember her. She was a much-loved and capable Chiropractor on the East Bank of the U of M in the Cedar Riverside area. (Mystically, this year she was named one of the Top Chiropractors in the Twin Cities.) Although she was a private person and practiced on her own, I was always in contact with her.

She started practicing due to a diagnosis of Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. At that time she had 2 small children. She was told that she had basically 2 choices: 1) Try an experimental Stem Cell Transplant or, 2) die. Not much of a choice. She was the 13th person at the U of M to receive this treatment. With her Daimoku and determination to live, she extended her life for almost 30 years.

About 2 years ago, she contacted me to say that (possibly) as a side effect of the Stem Cell Transplant, she had developed severe Pulmonary Fibrosis with only 20% Lung capacity and needed a Lung Transplant. She decided to fight with her practice to heal on her own and wanted support and encouragement. We chanted together regularly along with Kay Sharma and became close friends. About 2 months ago it became apparent that she could not heal the lungs she has. She was admitted to St. John's Hospital ICU and then transferred to the U of M in a medically induced coma, with the hope of being stabilized and put on the Transplant list.

After many challenges and obstacles, she made the transplant list on Friday, December 5th. On Saturday, December 6th, she developed complications that could not be overcome and she died peacefully with her husband, Ken, holding her hand. Because this was such a shock, no funeral plans have yet been made. Ken asked me to also have a Buddhist Memorial for her. I will send more information on both of those two things when I have them.

My Heart goes out to Marj's family and friends, a good soul taken way too soon. I am grateful to have known Marj and for all the adventures we had with our daughters and the troop in Girl Scouts.
