I don't know what made me start to see if I could find Ricky after nearly 41 years. While it wasn't a nagging daily pursuit, every 3-4 months for about the past year I might try to find him on Facebook or something. I grew up with Ricky and he was probably my closest and best from from ages 6 to 12. I lived just a couple of door down from him. There were usually three of us, myself, Ricky, and our friend who was nicknamed "Pooh" as his mom called him that. It turns out I wasn't finding him because I was misspelling his last name, but earlier today I asked an AI engine for alternative last name spellings and I stumbled on this page. Seeing who he left behind I knew it was him as everyone in the neighborhood knew his father, Richard and of course his sister Cheryl who was the crush of every boy in the neighborhood, including myself. We grew up on Englewood. Ricky was always an incredibly kind child who always looked out for others and tried to do the right thing. I remember many days playing with army figures in the back yard, riding our bikes around, playing video games at the Midway bowling alley, or having "soup and toast" that his mom would occasionally make for us. We lost contact after my mother had to move us out of our house and we moved to Inver Grove Heights.  Back then we didn't have cell phone, internet, and transportation was difficult for kids our age. However, I never forgot about him and I only wish I had a chance to reconnect before his passing. My heart goes out to his family and all those he touched. It was good to read that the amazing friend I knew as a kid grew up to be an outstanding man.

Sending out condolences to all of the Menne Families. I have known Rich and Ger for many years through our like/love of Bowling. Over the years I was introduced to the other family members and the kids as they grew up. There were times the young Rik would fill in on our team as someone needed a break. Laughter was had all night, As Rik never took the game serious. Then over the years came Fantasy football. Wow such knowledge and help for a football game. Thanks Rik for the good times, You will be missed by many.

I will always hold Ricks friendship in my heart. He was such a good man, friend, husband,father,supervisor. Rick approached everything with a friendly smile, wisdom and attitude that would immediately put you at ease. He cared about people and he was real about it. More people should be like he was and this world would be a much better place. I’ve learned so much from him in the 19 yrs that we were friends. He also gave a lot of himself. I have been so very blessed to call him my friend and I Will painfully miss him everyday. Until then… I will look forward to the day we will see each other again my friend in another place and have more of the great conversations that we always have and reunite of friendship again. Thank you my True friend for everything…..I will miss you so……..

Thoughts and prayers for the entire family during these difficult times , Captain was an amazing man , he was one of the best Supervisors I’ve had the chance to work under . He cared for people and things they were going through , both at work and beyond  . He always gave honest advice and tried to put our minds in a better place . He really was one of a kind . He will be missed dearly by all of us at work because that’s the effect he had on everyone . Sending love , strength and prayers to you all . 

Bill and I were blessed to meet you and your family at the Moon palace. Bill really enjoyed playing golf with him,  all we can say is Rick was loved by all.  💕
