Bill was a proud World War II Army veteran formerly of Maplewood MN, most recently Afton MN. Preceded in death by his parents and beloved wife, Florence. Survived by children Nancy (Robert) Kamm of FL, William Michael Kanan and fiancé Jane Panzella of IL, Kathleen (Donald) Craft of MN, Mary (Jeffrey) Scherrman of IA, grandchildren Amy (Laurent) Prevot Kamm and Robert Kamm, Kelly and Brynn Kanan, Adam and Ryan (Jamie) Craft, David, Elizabeth, Gregory and Anne Scherrman, great- grandchildren Raffaella and Eleanor Prevot and Sebastian and Zoé Kamm. William graduated from Hannibal LaGrange College in Hannibal, MO and attended Northwestern University Business School in Chicago IL. He was a 45 year railroad employee of the Chicago, Burlington & Quincy Railroad and Burlington Northern Railway now BNSF. During World War II he was a Master Gunner of a 90mm anti-aircraft battalion in France, Belgium and Germany with main battle action during the Battle of the Bulge. Visitation Monday, April 11, 2011 4:00PM to 7:00pm Wulff Mortuary, Woodbury MN and Tuesday 9:00am at Guardian Angels Catholic Church Oakdale, MN followed by service at 10:00AM. Interment 1:00PM Fort Snelling National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the U of MN Cancer Center or Alzheimer’s Assn.
