

Emilia "Molly" Peña Muñoz, 90, of Woodlake went to be with our Lord on December 7, 2010. Molly was the fourth of seven children born in Mesa, Arizona on March 20, 1920 to Cleto Peña and Natalia Castillo. In her twenties she moved to California where she met and married Carmen Arroyo Muñoz; they married December 6, 1947 and made their home in Woodlake. Molly was a homemaker, well known for her delicious cooking and baking, beautiful garden, immaculate home, and witty sense of humor. She’ll always be remembered dancing in her kitchen, teaching her grandkids to skip, and singing nursery rhymes in her best singing voice. Her love for family grew with each new addition and extended beyond that of her own. Molly is survived by Carmen, her loving husband and provider of 63 years; brother, Frank C. and Delia Peña of Visalia; sister, Mercy and Ralph Gonzales of Santa Clara; son, Robert P. Muñoz of Woodlake and his five children: Bobby Muñoz, Carmen and Alberto Garcia, Melissa Muñoz, Rebecca Muñoz, and Cynthia Muñoz; daughter Nancy and David Renteria of Visalia and their 8 children: Christina and Lige Thomas, Melissa and Luis Sanchez, Deniece and Nick Bentley, David and Adrienne Renteria, Marcos Renteria, Desiree Gaxiola, Danielle Renteria, and Edward Renteria; 25 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Manuel C. Peña and Mike C. Peña; and sisters, Josefina P. Sandoval and Guadalupe P. Mesquita.
The Holy Rosary will be prayed at St. Frances Cabrini Church on Tuesday, December 14, 2010, 6:00 p.m. with Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, December 15, 2010, 9:00 a.m. at St. Frances Cabrini. Graveside service will follow at Woodlake District Cemetery, Woodlake.
Visitation will be held at the Miller Memorial Woodlake Chapel from 2 p.m. to 5:45 p.m.
