Maricela Lucero de Garcia, a gentle and compassionate soul, passed away on November 21, 2025, at the age of 66. Born on October 14, 1959, in Benjamín Hill, Sonora, Mexico, to Mario Lucero Marinez and Maria del Carmen Dominguez de Lucero. Maricela was known for her generous and devoted nature.
Maricela married the love of her life, Jose Luis Garcia, on December 31, 1980. Together, they raised three children: Diana Anderson, Jose Luis Garcia, and Juan Carlos Garcia.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Jose Luis Garcia, her children Diana Anderson (Ramiro Espindola), Jose Luis Garcia (Joanna Martinez), and Juan Carlos Garcia (Christina Reynoso), as well as her six grandchildren: Ezekiel Guerrero, Jayden Anderson, Skylah Anderson, Elijah Garcia, Nova Garcia, and Myles Garcia. She is also survived by her siblings Alonzo Lucero, Silvia Lucero, Margarita Lucero, Migdalia Lucero, Angelica Lucero, Angelina Lucero, and Lizbeth Lucero.
Maricela was a devoted Catholic who loved to cook and had a deep affection for children. She worked as a babysitter for over 15 years, a role that allowed her to express her nurturing and faithful character.
Visitation will be held at Miller Memorial Chapel, 134 North Cypress Street, Woodlake, California, on December 9, 2025, from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm, with the Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:00 pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, 199 North Pepper Street, Woodlake, California, on December 10, 2025, at 10:00 am, followed by interment at Woodlake Public Cemetery, 165 North Cypress Street, Woodlake, California.
Maricela's gentle spirit and generous heart will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
