

Benedicto Capco Morcilla, 72 years old, peacefully passed away on July 21, 2025 in New York, New York. Benedicto was born in Pateros, Rizal, Philippines on May 06, 1953 to Ambrocia Flores Capco and Paciano Morcilla Gatpayat. His parents nicknamed him as “Boy” as he was the very first son in the family. He started from humble beginnings as it was taught by his beloved father. In fact, he used to sell “pandesal” in the street starting at dawn and played trumpet with his family band to afford his college tuition fees, which eventually helped him achieve his dream to be a Certified Public Accountant.
In 1997, Benedicto became the successful owner of Costal Safeway Travel Agency in the Philippines. Later, Morland Manpower Services was also founded. After migrating in the United States in 2007, Benedicto co-founded Resilient Care Physical Therapy, P.C in 2011 with his eldest daughter, Maria Clarissa Morcilla, in Woodside, NY. Benedicto Morcilla met Thelma Sagritalo Rayoso at a school dance party, got married in 1977, and raised six beautiful children-- Maria Clarissa, Jane Pamela, Mary Anne Mabelle, Jessa Benedict, Diana Rose, and Eric Benedict. He was truly well-loved by his family, who was his forever source of strength and resiliency throughout his life.
A funeral viewing is scheduled between 3:00pm to 8:00pm on July 25, 2025 at the Kennedy-Roth Funeral Home, 41-45 58th Street, Woodside, NY 11377. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Sebastian RC Church, Woodside, NY 11377. In lieu of flowers, those who wish to express sympathy are invited to make donations to the family that Benedicto left behind.
