

Dalisay Manalaysay Sinigayan, age 79, passed away at Northwell Health Long Island Jewish Medical Centre surrounded by her family on the evening of April 25, 2017.She was born May 6, 1937 in Naic, Cavite, Philippines to Artemio and Rustica (Arcena) Manalaysay, and she was the second child of eight children. Dalisay attended Philippine Women’s University for high school. She went on to graduate in commerce at Far Eastern University. She worked as an accountant for Cavite Electricity Development Authority, where she met Eustacio Sinigayan, as she was his boss. They were married May 15, 1965. Dalisay enjoyed cooking for others and was always called upon for recipes and tips on making traditional Filipino dishes. She loved to shop and recently got into online shopping with her daughter-in-law. Dalisay was always stylish and wore her trademark bright red lipstick whenever she left the house. She loved to travel, visiting families throughout the US, Canada and the Philippines. Whenever she was in Canada, she loved to sing karaoke and enjoy her friends’ company. Dalisay was artistic and loved to make crafts, as she especially enjoyed scrapbooking. She was a loving and caring person; forgiving and persistent, even through hard times. She was always affectionate, though she is also stubborn, in all the best ways. Most of all, she was religious and God-fearing, praying, and glorifying the Lord. Dalisay will always be remembered by her son Emmanuel, and his wife Marites Sinigayan and her daughters, Marie Emielou, and her husband Reginald Tan, and Carmencita Sinigayan; her grandchildren Jemwel, Regina, Vince, Jason, James, Jericho and Zoila; her siblings Elvie, Elmer, Chet, Raul and Jojie (adopted sister) and her families in the Philippines, California and Florida. Dalisay was preceded in death by her parents Artemio and Rustica Manalaysay and her brothers Luis, Boying and Edwin Manalaysay. Funeral viewing (lamay) will be held on Saturday May 6, 2017 and Sunday May 7, 2017 from 2 pm to 5pm and 7 pm to 9 pm, at Kennedy-Roth Funeral Home at 41-45 58th St, Woodside, NY 11377. Funeral services will be held on Monday May 8, 2017 at 10:45 am at St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church 58-02 Roosevelt Ave, Woodside, NY 11377. The cremation will follow at All Souls Crematorium at 72-02 Astoria Blvd S, East Elmhurst, NY 11370. Special thanks are extended towards the Corpus family, the Torres family, the Ranojo family, the Reyes family, the Nazareno family, the Abcede family, Bigalbal family, and all the other family and friends that came to visit her and offered prayers in her time of need.
