David Carlos Ortiz Torres 56, of Flushing, New York passed away on September 17, 2012. He was born in Callao, Peru on December 13, 1955. David was self employed as a carpenter and painter. He is the beloved son to Aurelio Ortiz and Rafaela Torres. David was a member of the Marina (Navy) and he enjoyed soccer, swimming, painting and boxing as well as vacationing in Las Vegas. He was outgoing, practical, sensitive to the needs and feelings of others and was a free spirit. David will be missed by his wife, Mariela; his children, David, Cindy, Vanessa and Carlos; his grandchildren, Reyna, Victor, Walter, Eros, Isabella, Alexandra and Jade and his brothers and sisters, Dalmiro, Celso, Fernando, Jesus, Gloria and Irma. Visitation will be held on Saturday and Sunday September 22 & 23, 2012 from 5-10:00pm. The funeral will take place on Monday September 24, 2012, the family will be leaving to the funeral home at 1:30pm. Entombment to follow at Saint Michael's Cemetery, located in East Elmhurst, New York.
