Delia Gallagher age 86, born in Mountbellew, County Galway, Ireland, ascended into heaven in the loving hands of God on December 10th, 2016. Survived by daughter Eileen McGuirk (son-in-law Gerry) and son Patrick Gallagher (daughter-in-law Theresa) and Nancy Hopkins in Ireland. Delia was preceded in death by four of her six children; Kathleen Huttick (Allen) Michael, John Gallagher (Kelly) and Maureen Gallagher Cross (Paul), 5 sisters and brothers in Ireland. She was a proud Grandmother of 7; Conor, Patrick, Meagan, Katie, Erin, Brian & Brendan, who honor their Granny’s heritage with Irish Music, Step-Dancing talents and witty charm and is survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews in the USA and Ireland. She was the co-founder of the NY Young Ireland’s Camogie Club in 1950 and fantastic player for many years. She worked as a Nanny, an NYPD School Crossing Guard, Lieutenant & Trainer in the NYDOT Traffic Enforcement Academy.
