

Eleanor was born on July 20, 1925 to John and Frances Cassidy and raised in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan. The youngest of the family after her sister Dorothy and brother John, Eleanor grew up during the Great Depression, graduated from St. Columba elementary school and Blessed Sacrament HS.
She worked in the Censor Bureau during World War II and then at J.P. Morgan.
She married Dominick Anerella on February 4th, 1956 at St. John the Baptist RC Church in Manhattan.
They moved to Astoria and raised three children Marianne, Donald & Michael.
Eleanor also worked as a cashier for many years at Bohack supermarket and a coupon cutter for CTown supermarket before retiring.
Eleanor was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and aunt.
Her husband Dominick in 1987, her parents, sister and brother and their respective spouses predecease her.
She is survived by her children Marianne Evangelou, husband James with children Elizabeth and Eric: Donald Anerella, wife Lisa; children- David and Jessica; Michael Anerella, wife Robyn with children Christine and Jacqueline.
Her goddaughter and niece Carolyn O’Connell also survive her.
Numerous first cousins, nieces and nephews also survive Eleanor.
