Born in NY, NY, Frank resided in Woodside for the majority of his life, after a brief period in his youth in the Bronx and tours of his military service.
Predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Marie (Bertha Sargent) O’Brien and brother Thomas and sister-in-law Mary (Braniff) O’Brien; survived by his niece, Cathleen O’Brien Sing, his grand-niceces, Caitlin Sing, Emily Sing, Jillian Sing, and grand-nephew Mathew Sing.
Frank was a Vietnam Veteran, who worked in the Army Military Police. After that, Frank worked on wall street, was a travel agent and most recently he retired as a concierge at a luxury condominium in NYC, The Savoy. He was an active member in the local Knights of Columbus (former Grand night) and the Catholic War Veterans (St. Sebastian's Chapter).
Frank was a classy man, who made us laugh, and whose generosity was apparent to everyone who had the privilege to know him. His impact in the Woodside community, where he spent the majority of his life, is apparent as to the huge response to all of his family who did not live in Woodside. We love and will miss him terribly.
A memorial gathering will be held on Friday, March 18, 2022 at the Kennedy-Roth Funeral Home, in Woodside, NY from 2pm to 5pm followed by a celebration of his life tribute at Donovan’s Pub at 5:30pm. Live streaming of the visitation and photo slideshow will be available to those who are unable to come via the funeral home’s webpage.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.kennedyrothfuneralhome.com for the O'Brien family.
