Rafaella Helen Rannazzi passed away peacefully on June 22, 2025, in New York City at the age of 96. A devoted mother, cherished grandmother, and vibrant presence in her community, she leaves behind a legacy of warmth, strength, and enduring love.
She is survived by her beloved daughters, Vickie Rannazzi and Suzanne O’Connor, and their spouses, Ralph Iannuzzi and Peter O’Connor. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Luke, Sofia, and Sarah, who brought her immense joy.
In her younger years, Helen was an active member of the Queens Democratic Club and a dedicated participant in the Sunnyside Community Services, where she cultivated friendships and served as a spirited advocate for her community. Her afternoons were happily spent with friends at Gina's Pizzeria. She embraced life with energy and curiosity, always eager to travel, try something new, and enjoy the small pleasures life had to offer.
Helen loved her games of chance — from Bingo nights to the thrill of slot machines and her faithful New York Lottery tickets. But it was in her kitchen where she truly shined. A fabulous cook, she brought her family together with lovingly prepared meals, and her famous eggplant parmigiana was the centerpiece of many cherished holiday gatherings.
She will be remembered for her kindness, quick wit, and the unwavering love she gave to her family and friends. Helen's legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
A memorial gathering will be held at the Kennedy Roth Funeral Home 41-45 58th Street Woodside, NY 11377 on Thursday
