Johanna Pando of Astoria, New York, entered into eternal rest on December 12, 2012, at the age of 90. She was born on April 13, 1922, in Brunico/Bruneck, Italy, to Anna Durnwalder and Johann Seeber. Johanna was the widow of her beloved husband, Anthony Pando, Sr., since July 25, 1983; was a devoted mother to her six children, Johanna Cellucci, Anthony Pando, Jr., Richard Pando, Wilfred Pando, Christina Fleck and Charlotte Pando; a caring mother-in-law; and a loving grandmother to three granddaughters, Megan Pando, Kathryn Pando and Krista Fleck.
Johanna was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and two brothers in Italy; she has many surviving nieces and nephews and their families.
Visitation was held on Sunday, December 16, 2012, and a Funeral Mass was held on Monday, December 17, 2012, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church in Astoria. Interment followed at Mount Saint Mary Cemetery located in Flushing, New York. Johanna will surely be missed by all of her family and those who knew her.
