Mark Michael Hartigan, 57 of Astoria, New York, died peacefully on Friday, August 26th. He was born in Middletown, CT on May 2, 1954. He graduated Valley Regional High School in 1972, worked at L.C. Doane in Centerbrook and United Technologies, Inc. in Middletown for 10 years before pursuing his passion of cooking. He lived in Old Saybrook and Deep River prior to moving to New York, where he spent most of his time working as a private chef. He leaves a daughter Haley Michelle Hartigan and wife (former) Abigail Koreto in Astoria, NY; his mother Mona Hartigan in Deep River, CT; a brother Randy and sister-in-law Marcia (Budney) Hartigan in Lady Lake, FL; a brother Coleman Hartigan in Nashua, NH; a sister Colleen and brother-in-law John Piatak in Stratford, CT; a niece and three nephews; Meghan Piatak, Matthew Piatak, Kyle Piatak, and Isaac Hartigan. His father Ronald, brother Shaun and sister Sioban predeceased him. A memorial service will be held 5:30pm on Thursday, September 1st at the Thomas M Quinn & Sons Funeral Home.
