Nicholas family moved to Astoria, New York where he attended P.S. 171 and later, Manhattan High.
Nicholas was a member of the Boy’s scouts and the Boy’s club. That’s when he became good at shooting pool and learned how to play chess.
Nicholas he was affectionately known for being funny and had a great sense of humor, always cracking jokes. Nick had a way of making people feel good about themselves, pointing out good qualities and giving you words of encouragement. He was generous as well. “If he had it, you had it”!
Growing up Nick had a gang of friends that he was very close to and stayed in touch with. He enjoyed to eat, watch cowboy movies, karate flicks and boxing. Nick loved listening to music, especially songs from the 70’s. He also played the trumpet and was a member in a few bands.
Nick shared a very close relationship with his mother and daughter. He loved his cars and had a passion for driving busses. Early in his career he drove for Logan’s bus company and LaGuardia Airport. He then started working for the MTA, where he was soon to retire.
On October 18, 2016 Nicholas was called home. He is preceded in death by his father, his son Leon Davis, his aunt Ruth Cardwell, his uncles Junior, Johnny, Hubbalee and Theodore-Roosevelt (Thimo) Cardwell.
