Torrie was born February 21, 1950 to Anna Williams and the late Willie Barnes in Chicago, IL . At the age of five, Torrie’s family relocated to Long Island City, NY, where he attended St. Rita’s Elementary School. From there he went to St. Emma’s Military Academy, and graduated as a Captain. He later attended Hunter College in New York for four years and became a successful salesman.
Those that knew Torrie best knew he had an infectious personality, huge sense of humor, was extremely charismatic, and truly had a love for entertaining everybody. He was a huge socialite and was coined the nickname “Cowboy”.
Torrie leaves behind to cherish his loving memories his mother, Anna Williams of Long Island City, NY; three children, Nikia Singletary of Teaneck, NJ, Torrie Barnes Jr. of Long Island City, NY, and Toreena Hall of Brooklyn, NY. He also leaves a host of family members and friends. He will be tremendously missed but never forgotten.
