Betty Lorraine Rice

Born in Biltmore, NC, she was the daughter of Herbert Young and Loraine Lacy. She was the wife of Napoleon Rice for 52 years, all of which have predeceased her. She will be cherished and remembered by her surviving family which included her brothers Ronnie Young (wife Brenda) of Greenville, SC, Roger Young of Erwin, TN, Daughters Sheila Olsen (husband John) of Woodstock, GA, Regina Woodson (husband Bill) of Moses Lake, WA, son Drew Rice (wife Ana) of Dallas, TX. Betty is also survived by 9 grandchildren, Matthew Farquhar, Jacob Farquhar, Caitlin Olsen, Joshua Wright, Jeremy Wright, Drey Woodson, Jacqueline Ciulla, Jessica Mateo, and Madison Rice.

Betty was raised in Oak Ridge, TN. and relocated to Georgia in 1965, she spent the majority of her life providing service to her community by working at Chapman Elementary School, Cherokee County Community Action Agency, Hemophilia of Georgia, American Cancer Society and as event coordinator and managing the Senior Center for the City of Woodstock.

Betty enjoyed life, and you would often find her gardening, making arts and crafts, playing card games and traveling with relatives and friends.
