Catherine "Katie" Hackett

Catherine “Katie” Carroll Hackett, age 93, of Marietta, Georgia, formerly of New York, passed away on February 13, 2022.

Katie was born to the late William and Eileen Carroll on December 4, 1928 in Syracuse, New York. After high school, she met and married Richard Hackett. The couple moved to Camillus, New York where she was a member of The Guild and a local Camillus acting group.

Katie and Richard’s family grew to include five children: Susan, Stephen, Sharon, Kathleen and Patrick. She was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. Katie moved to New Jersey to be closer to her grandchildren.

Katie loved acting, singing and modeling. She also was a self-described “original health nut” and found joy in healthy eating and teaching yoga. A lady with many talents, Katie entered and placed in the Mrs. America Pageant.

Catherine “Katie” Carroll Hackett is preceded in death by her parents, William and Eileen Carroll; husband, Richard Fitzgerald Hackett; and daughter, Susan Hackett. Survivors include her children, Stephen Hackett (Stephanie), Sharon Hackett Mikula (Douglas), Kathleen Hackett Jurich (Robert) and Patrick Hackett (Heidi); grandchildren, Matthew (Lindsey), Ryan, Jonathan, Jacqueline (Bryce), Michael, Robert, Annelise, Connor, John and Joseph; great-grandchildren, Landon, Caroline, Alexander, Logan, Luke, Jackson, Elijah Lee, Rachael Marie and Benjamin.

A Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, February 26, 2022 at St. Joseph’s Church of Camillus, 5600 W Genesee Street, Camillus, New York 13031. A burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Dewitt, New York.
