Sergeant First Class Charles O. Hendrix Jr. (retired), age 64 of Pickens County, Georgia, served 20 years in the U.S. Army and medically retired in 1992. Survivors include wife Nora; two sons, Danny and Dylan; daughter, Melissa; granddaughters, Crystal, Faith, Catey, Nora and Carley; and grandson, Dylan Jr. A political activist, care giver and loving provider for his family, he dedicated his life protecting those who could not protect themselves while battling gun violence issues the later portion of his life. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 6, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Woodstock Funeral Home in Woodstock, Georgia. Committal services will be held on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at 11:30 am at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia.
