David is preceded in death by his father, Jean Towery. He is survived by his beloved sons, Jack (Taylor) Towery and Luke Towery. He is also survived by his mother, Marjorie Towery; his sister, Jean Ann Gilliland; and his brother, Jeff Towery.
Born in 1965 in East Point, Georgia, David was the third and youngest child of Jean and Marjorie Towery. David’s childhood was filled with love from his devoted mother, father, and siblings. Some of his favorite memories were of the many trips his family took to visit his cousins in Atlanta, Waycross, and beyond. He was an active child, playing soccer and tennis for many years while in school.
David’s passion for computers began while attending Sprayberry High School. This passion, along with his ambition, led him to start his own business called Towery Techniques. He continued to work in this field while pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering Technology at Southern Tech (Southern College of Technology). After graduation, he worked for several years at Jade Computer in Marietta before joining the customer support team at IBM as a Server Specialist for 27 years.
Being a father was David's greatest joy. He read to his sons daily, even before they could talk. He shared his passion for technology with them and took them on many outdoor adventures, including long bike rides on the Silver Comet Trail. David was dedicated to supporting Jack at his many concert band performances, and was Luke's second coach and biggest fan as he competed in club and varsity soccer. He loved to tell everyone he met about his sons’ academic and professional accomplishments.
David was a devout student of the Bible throughout his life. He loved to gather and fellowship with other Christians. He led Bible studies at his home in Marietta and loved to share the message of God’s love with everyone he met.
David will be remembered for his dedication to his family, friends, and faith. His legacy lives on through his sons and in the many relationships he built throughout his life. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his family and friends.
