Mrs. Vidic,
I'm sad to hear of Dave's passing.  I know all of his family and friends will miss him terribly! It was my pleasure to serve as your family vet for many years, and I always enjoyed talking to Dave. We had common interests in dogs and baseball, and we are both just plain ol', good guys who love our families and don't mind going out of our way to show it!  I will miss Dave, too.
But now, as much as we ache for him, he is in the throne room of God, by His grace and the precious blood of Jesus. For that, we can sing praises, and look forward with hope to a future reunion under the Father's loving gaze.

Our neighborhood showed up to honor Dave’s family.  We are thankful for every persons contribution and support.

John Mike and Kathleen honored their Dad and husband with a beautiful service and time with friends afterwards.  The community is thankful for Dave’s helpful and excellent work in our homes as well as his faithful friendship.  We thank the Lord for His Divine comfort at this time for we all miss Dave terribly.

Dear Kathleen,  Mark Gregory here! Claudia and I were saddened to learn of Dave's passing!  i regret not keeping in better touch with you and Dave over the years.  We sure had our share of good times, and Dave will always live on in my memory.  He won't be spending much time in Purgatory, if any.  I firmly believe we will all see each other again, and the great thing about Eternity is that there is enough time to really hang out!  I'm sure you are very sad at this point! It would be impossible not to be.  I hope you will find peace in the days to come!

I've just learned the sad news of my friend Dave's passing. I offer my deepest sympathies to Kathleen & John Michael, and the rest of the extended family. Dave was my roommate for several years when we were young men at St. Bonaventure University in Western New York. He was a "strong, silent type" of man. Calm. Soft-spoken. Kind. A good listener. Willing to help others. A hearty laugh. I appreciated the 1:1 conversations we had about our families, our lives, our hopes. And, of course, sports. Following up on his success as a high school football player, Dave was a force to be reckoned with on our St. Bonaventure's club football team.  He was a huge fan of the Steelers and Pirates. Although he was a hunter and I wasn't, we both really loved dogs. I've lived far away on the NW coast of California for the past 48 years, and although our phone calls and written notes were few, I thought of Dave fondly, with respect. May Dave Rest in Peace.

We’re sorry we had to attend the celebration of life for Dave via remote rather than in person.  Father Pat had it right with the carpenter reference.  The Vidics are a wonderful family and Dave was one of our favorite people ever.  We first encountered Dave during summer travel baseball.  We loved his demeanor and were taken by the artistry of his baseball scorekeeping.  Dave spent many a day working on projects at our house and literally left a mark on our lives. Not only did we know we’d love his work, we loved having him spending time with us while he worked. What a calm, gentle, fun-loving person.  As a family, we will miss Dave greatly. Our kids were deeply upset upon hearing of Dave’s passing. Ironically with all the handiwork Dave did for us in our lives, he’s left a hole that cannot be replaced. We know he’s already upgrading the halls of heaven.

Linda and I have been tremendously blessed to have such wonderful neighbors in David and Kathleen for the past 27 years, and our hearts are broken with the news of David’s passing. 

David was a good and generous man that would help you in any way he could, and as others have stated, David’s footprints are all over our house. I have enjoyed our discussions on the deck over the years and working with each other in maintaining the wooded area of our properties. I am going to truly miss David but I will never forget him and the relationship we had over the years.

Kathleen and John Michael, we are praying for you daily and that you will feel the Lord’s goodness and His loving touch today and the days ahead. Kathleen, you are not alone. There are a lot of people who love you including us and we will be here for you today and the days to come.

For it says in Lamentations 3:22-24, The Lord’s lovingkindness indeed never cease, For His compassions never fail, They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness. “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “Therefore I have hope in Him.”

Our families became intertwined when we were 8 years old as teammates at Shaw Park and as we stayed teammates through our days at Georgia Tech!

So many great memories through the years of baseball with John Mike and Dave. He’d be with me in the dugout charting every pitch, at bat, and put out on the field. Of course the post game meals at any CAM (Mexican) restaurant we could find. 

Dave was always there for the team, helping in any way he could and teaching them the right way to play ball with his unassuming approach to the game and his critical role on our coaching staff. 

Everyone in the Flowers Family will always remember Dave fondly and miss him greatly.

Dave touched so many lives, and his memory will live in all our hearts. Our thoughts and prayers are with you Kathleen and John Michael.

Dave & Kathleen were our neighbors years ago up here north of Pittsburgh. The boys were quite young, played with our slightly older 
sons. They were just wonderful neighbors. 
I remember Dave as a very humble & kind  gentleman.  He kept his emotions close to his heart, yet anyone knew he was  very caring towards others. He was thoughtful, a good listener. Less on words but great on insight. Dave wore a smile very well. His creative expression was his work & wonderful carpentry.  Talented man. Excellent husband & father. I loved being a neighbor to Dave & Kathleen. My heart was broken to get such sad news.

This photo was taken at Samantha Mickiewicz’s wedding, April 2015.  We always enjoyed fun times with Dave and Kathleen.  Dave was a kind hearted man of few words.  He loved his family and helped many people in our neighborhood when  we needed work done in our homes.  We appreciated his humble ways and funny stories.  Dave, we will take good care of Kathleen and John Mike because you took such good care of so many people.  God bless the Vidic family with peace and satisfaction of a beautiful life with Dave, not always easy, but still amazing!

We met in grade school when boys were icky. We became friends in high school when it was cool. We stayed friends through college and after we graduated. By then I was smart enough to know I had a true friend.  I was blessed to know what a real friend is. We lost touch when they moved south but again I was lucky enough to have Kathleen.  She kept us connected. Pray Kathleen and John Michael find peace that Dave was loved by so many. Rest in peace Dave.

Dear Aunt Kathy & John Michael - on behalf of Julia & our Kids our sincere condolences for your loss. Uncle Dave was a fun part of my childhood, whether telling jokes or funny stories. We know you all built a deep, supportive community of friends in Georgia, and we're certain they'll be out in full force to remind you what a great guy he was. Sadness will eventually give way to the smiles when reminded of who Uncle Dave was and how he touched you all.  Brian, Julia & Family.

There are no words that can take away the pain Kathleen and Jon Michael are going through.  Dave was a GREAT guy who had a great economy with words. But oh how he spoke with his heart and gentle smile. He really loved his family.  I learned so much from him but he will DEFINITELY be with me FOREVER as he built my screened-in porch, guest bedroom, guest bathroom, installed every single ceiling fan and then some !  So long my friend ... until we meet again.
P.S.  I'll do my best to look after Kathleen.
