Dawn was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who loved her family fiercely. She was married to the love of her life, Ron Mastin, for 50 wonderful years, a partnership marked by deep love, loyalty, and shared adventures.
Dawn grew up on a dairy farm in Wisconsin, an upbringing that shaped her lifelong love of animals and strong work ethic. She was an animal lover through and through and volunteered her time with the Humane Society, always advocating for those without a voice.
After graduating from UW Whitewater, she began her teaching career, leaving a lasting impact on countless students and colleagues. Outside the classroom, she delighted in shopping, especially bargain shopping and yard sales, gardening and creating crafts. She had a keen eye for hidden treasures and a creative spirit that showed in everything she did.
Dawn was truly one of a kind. She spoke her mind, lived authentically, and was unapologetically herself. Her family lovingly learned to “speak Dawn,” embracing her unique way of expressing herself and the honesty that came with it.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Ruth Lindner, and her brother, Donny Lindner.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Ron Mastin; her daughters, Cassie Accurso, and Carissa (John) McKinney; her step-son, M. Marvin (Jannele) Mastin; her four cherished grandchildren, Jack McKinney, George McKinney, Maya Mastin, and Milanna Mastin; and her sister, JoAn Hurley.
A service for Dawn will be Saturday, February 21, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Woodstock Funeral Home, 8855 Main Street, Woodstock, Georgia.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Atlanta Humane Society in honor of Dawn’s lifelong love for animals.
