I WILL MISS YOU GOOD FRIEND, NOW YOU CAN REST PEACEFULLY

Earl and I worked together at the City of Marietta for over 20 years.   He always made time to come by and see me whenever he was at City Hall.  After we both retired,  Earl and his buddy, Kemp Dickerson,  another dear friend, from the City, would help me with electrical work I needed done.   It was always great to see them. I knew I could count on them to do a good job and help me whenever I asked.  I will miss Earl.  I didn't get to see him much these last few years, but we kept up with each other on social media.  Earl was a true friend.  Of that,  I have no doubt, and I was a true friend to him.  I am glad he is now fully healthy again  with his loved ones who went before,  and I look forward to the day we have a joyful reunion in heaven!! I will be saying prayers for his family in this difficult time.

Earl and I worked together for many years with the City of Marietta, and shared many good times.  Who knew, after we both retired that we would live in the same town, Jasper, GA and attend the same church, Mt Zion Baptist Church.  He was a good friend, and a all around good man.  Earl missed his wife so much, after her passing.  So happy that they will be together forever, now.

Have been a friend since we attended the Elisabeth Baptist Church on Church St.  Enjoyed  visiting him and his family in Marietta and working with him on mission projects and the present Elizabeth church.
He was a soft speaking man who always had a kind word and I never heard him raise his voice but I imagine he could be firm when the situation called for firmness.
Enjoyed being in church with him again at Mt Zion and looked for him every Sunday I was there.  I am sure I will look for him again the next time I am there and be sad because he is physically missing but maybe he and Sue and Jodi will be leaning over the banister of Heaven and say "Good to see Gene at Mt Zion".

We were sad to hear of Earl’s passing. But we are grateful to know he’s more alive than ever and not suffering any longer. And, he’s now in the presence of his Savior and other cherished loved ones.  
Earl was a very kind and caring gentleman. He truly appreciated his friends and would do most anything to help others.  He will be missed by those who knew him and our thoughts and prayers were with his family.

Earl was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Sue Davenport in June of 2002. He is survived by his daughter Cindy Ponce and her husband John and their children Paul and Hamilton of Taylorsville, Georgia and his son Darrell Davenport and his wife Deanna and their children Peyton and Addison of Marietta, Georgia
